Environmental policy statement

AVK-SEG will seek to reduce its impact on the environment both globally and locally. We recognise that our activities have an impact on the environment in terms of the use raw materials, emissions to air and water, waste generation, and seek to minimise this as much as possible.

With a high profile as a leader in the supply and installation of Uninterruptible Power Supplies and Diesel Generator Systems, the organisation will endeavour to minimise pollutants, and wherever possible, take measures to reduce their detrimental effects on the environment.

Our Sustainability Specialist is responsible for ensuring that our Environmental Policy is implemented alongside our CEO, Ben Pritchard. However, at AVK all employees are responsible for ensuring in their area of work all objectives of this policy are met.

AVK’s commitment:

• Comply fully with all relevant environmental legislation, regulation and other requirements that are relevant with the organisation, including but not limited to ISO 14001:2015.
• Continually monitor the environmental impact of our operations.
• Continuously work to improve our environmental performance and improve environmental best practices in all business operations.
• Monitor and take action to reduce our carbon footprint of our business activities.
• Minimise and better manage waste produced as a result of business operations. Incorporating the waste hierarchy: Prevention, Re-use, Recycling, Recovery, Disposal.
• Review our business operations to find opportunities to conserve raw materials and prevent pollution.
• Design, source and promote a product range to minimise the environmental impact, considering the life cycle of the product throughout.
• Review organisation’s ‘objectives and targets’ for environmental protection at regular management review meetings.
• Promote and support environmental awareness at all levels within the organisation and to ensure all employees are committed to managing their environmental duties in a manner that seeks to eliminate potential damage to the environment.

To meet our commitments, we will:

• Ensure AVK’s board members are fully aware of all environmental policies with regular updates on our performance to ensure adequate resources are allocated to achieve all targets set.
• Engage with our supply chain regularly to ensure not only are they aware of all environmental policies and targets but to also enable them to become more sustainable.
• Regularly monitor all key objectives and targets relating to our environmental targets annually at a minimum.
• Continue to push and promote a more sustainable way of working to all clients.
• Continuous engagement with all staff members on the importance of environmental issues.
• Work with all stakeholders to advocate for improved environmental performance.
• Review our environmental policy regularly.

AVK will adopt specific measures to enhance the quality of the environment, through a positive policy on safety in the workplace, control of pollution and care of the local environment.

AVK will make every effort to improve the health of the people working within the area of their workplace, through the reduction and prevention of environmental damage and by promoting environmental awareness.

This Environmental Policy of AVK is a Corporate ‘Statement of Commitment’ which is totally supported by management and all personnel within the organisation; it is communicated to all who operate under our control and to interested parties as required.
