Starter battery replacement
Several factors can contribute to the useful life of the lead-acid batteries used within diesel generators. Ambient temperature, maintenance schedule and discharge/recharge frequency can all play a part. At AVK, we recommend that batteries are exchanged every 3-5 years. However, our highly trained team will offer bespoke advice based on the service history of your asset.

Engine coolant replacement
When coolant deteriorates or the concentration is too low, its anti-corrosion performance suffers, resulting in metal corrosion. In turn, this can lead to common issues such as water leakage and radiator failure. At AVK, we suggest that a coolant replacement programme is completed every 3 years, depending on the age and condition of your generator.

Engine oil replacement
Regular oil changes are essential for the proper maintenance and longevity of a generator. While the frequency of oil changes can vary based on the generator model, usage, and manufacturer recommendations. However, we usually recommend changing the oil every 5 years to ensure effective lubrication, preservation of seals and optimised fuel efficiency.
