Striving for success, a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer required a tailored HVAC control system on site. With seamless installation, it needed to be delivered within a tight deadline and without disruption to the existing plant. AVK created a system that allowed our client to embark on critical R&D processes – the manufacture and testing of pharmaceutical products in advance of mass production.
What was required…?
This project demanded expertise in all areas of the control panel; design, manufacture, installation, and commissioning. The client had obtained approval to install a pilot plant HVAC control system, but there was a strict deadline that we had to adhere to.
The urgency came from the need for a live site capable of the R&D into new pharmaceutical products. Additionally, the new system we were installing had to be integrated into the site’s existing plant, without disruption to ongoing processes.
What were the challenges…?
An inflexible, aggressive timeline
This was required for regulatory and business milestones.
Integration without interruption
The new systems had to tie seamlessly into the existing site infrastructure whilst keeping ongoing manufacturing operations unaffected.
What was delivered…?
Having prior experience in this industry, our team had a standardised design in mind that could suit the specificities of the project. We adapted this to ensure a bespoke approach, and quickly delivered a design, leading to a rapid approval and a project that was on schedule. Everything was shipped to site sooner as a result of this, and we started the process without delay.
The strict deadline necessitated flexibility on our end. Usually, the control team’s processes are such that the control panel is built, shipped to site, and then the installation team will begin their process of installation, containment and instrumentation. For this project, our teams coordinated to carry out a gradual installation whilst panels were simultaneously being built, working in tandem to eliminate wasted time.
