Earlier this year in February 2026, we proudly launched our first Sustainability and Responsible Business Strategy, The Footprint We Leave. We’re now excited to demonstrate AVK’s further commitment to sustainable practices with our new EcoVadis Bronze Medal award.
We have recently achieved this award after our first assessment process with EcoVadis, and we’re proud of the medal we have attached to our name as a result. We’ve been placed among the top 28% of companies assessed globally. Among fellow companies in the electrical, plumbing, and other construction installation activities industry, we were placed in the top 13%.
This is a significant milestone for AVK, providing a strong foundation for us to progress within our Sustainable and Responsible Business practices.
Who are EcoVadis?
EcoVadis is one of the world’s most widely recognised sustainability assessments. Having an EcoVadis accreditation strengthens supply chain relationships and signals to customers that they are working with an organisation who values ethical, sustainable, and social consideration.
Medals are awarded on percentile rank against every company assessed globally over the previous 12 months – Bronze is top 35%, silver is the top 15%, and so on. AVK achieving a Bronze medal is independent confirmation that our sustainability practices meet a globally recognised standard of excellence.
What’s been happening behind the scenes?
The medal is welcome recognition, but what it really does is signifies the calibre of work we have been prioritising in the background. Over the last 18 months, we have:
- Launched our first Sustainability & Responsible Business Strategy, The Footprint We Leave
- Introduced a Responsible Sourcing Policy and supporting toolkit for our suppliers to also improve their ESG performance
- Strengthened our carbon reporting and climate governance
- Joined Sedex to enhance responsible supply chain management
- Enhanced our people policies to support a more equitable and inclusive workplace
- Introduced social value into how we operate and the measurement of impact on local communities
- Strengthened our approach to health, safety and wellbeing
- Participated in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)
The foundations we are building are helping us to build a stronger, more responsible business that benefits our people, customers, suppliers, communities, and the wider data centre industry.
What it means for our customers
Since achieving the EcoVadis Bronze medal, our customers have gained more than just a smoother due diligence process, they’ve gained independent, third-party proof of the standards we hold ourselves to. The EcoVadis scorecard gives customers a verified benchmark of our ESG performance, so when we talk about building a more responsible business, we can back it up with evidence, not just intent.
Our customers don’t just have to take our word for it anymore. EcoVadis gives them an independent view of how AVK actually performs, and it’s a benchmark we’re determined to keep raising.

What comes next
This isn’t the finish line for AVK. We remain focused on continuous improvement, across environmental performance, labour and human rights, and sustainable procurement, as we work towards even higher standards.
Over the coming few years we are going to be working towards a Silver medal from EcoVadis, which would place us in the top 15% globally of companies being assessed.
This recognition belongs to the many colleagues who have helped turn commitments into meaningful action and demonstrates what can be achieved when teams work together towards a shared goal.
