A Few Home Truths About Hydrogen

Hydrogen has considerable potential for the data centre industry. It is very energy-dense, and burning a kilogram of it provides 2.6 times more energy than burning a kilogram of natural gas. When burned in air it produces none of the sulphates or carbon monoxide through which fossil fuels damage air quality both outdoors and in (although it does produce some oxides of nitrogen). Even more attractive for data centre backup, when used in a fuel cell, which uses the reaction between hydrogen and oxygen to produce electricity without combustion, it produces nothing but water.

Breaking the Menopause Taboo: Education, Compassion, Understanding

It’s fair to say the construction industry has come on leaps and bounds in terms of inclusivity. While diversity is still a bridge we’re only a fraction of the way across, the difference over the recent years has been beneficial to minorities both already in the industry, and those new to it. That being said, though, there is always progress to be made. This World Menopause Day, Saturday 18th October, we’re drawing attention to those in the industry who often suffer in silence, who may be too scared or embarrassed to ask for the help they need. Habitually, menopause is shied away from. It shouldn’t be avoided like it’s taboo. It should be understood, embraced, and prioritised across workplaces, providing an environment that ensures women are supported and championed.
